The best practice is to follow your facility policies. The Norton County Hospital IP nurse recommends routine cleaning. Some of the products others are using are Virex Plus, Virex 256, Fusion and Oxycide. You can also make your own bleach solution. For more information, go to the KDHE, OSHA and CDC websites. The Kansas Healthcare Environmental and Linen Services Association provides networking, support and education for persons involved in the many facets of housekeeping and laundry for health care institutions.
