Regional Infection Prevention Trainings Available July and August throughout Kansas

Project Firstline2 (June 9, 2023) – KFMC Health Improvement Partners has joined the Kansas Department of Health and Environment and Kansas Healthcare Collaborative to facilitate in-person with Project Firstline infection prevention education for frontline staff in Kansas hospitals, long-term care and communal living facilities throughout Kansas during July and August. The goal of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's Project Firstline is to provide infection control knowledge needed to stop the spread of infectious disease threats in a health care facility. Project Firstline is a collaborative of diverse health care, public health and academic partners working to provide engaging, innovative and effective infection control training for millions of frontline U.S. health care workers, as well as members of the public health workforce.

Upon session completion, participants will be able to:

  • Identify at least one primary goal of infection prevention and control
  • Explain one reason why good hand hygiene and environmental cleaning are important
    to keep germs from spreading in health care
  • Describe two ways viruses can spread from surfaces to people
