President's Perspective – Thankful for You!

Thankful (Nov. 22, 2023) – As the Thanksgiving holiday approaches, I find myself deeply grateful for the unwavering dedication and tireless efforts Kansas hospital teams put forth every day. Your commitment to care, compassion and healing is nothing short of remarkable. I hope each of you is able to take some time this week to celebrate the Thanksgiving holiday. At the Kansas Hospital Association, one of those "many other things" we are thankful for is the work our members do to serve their communities.

Thanksgiving, as we know it, traces its roots back to a time when the Pilgrims celebrated their first harvest in the New World in 1621. They gathered to give thanks for a successful harvest and to share a meal with the Native Americans who had helped them survive in unfamiliar lands.

Similarly, your unwavering dedication mirrors the spirit of that first Thanksgiving. Your resilience, sacrifice and determination in the face of adversity exemplify the very essence of gratitude and community.

In a world where uncertainty often looms, you stand as pillars of strength, offering hope and comfort to those in need. Your selflessness and commitment to healing embody the true spirit of Thanksgiving every single day.

This Thanksgiving, as families and friends gather around tables to share meals and stories, know that your sacrifices do not go unnoticed. You are the unsung heroes, the ones who work tirelessly behind the scenes, and your contributions to Kansas communities are immeasurable.

On behalf of your KHA staff, we extend our deepest gratitude to you for your unwavering dedication, sacrifices and the compassionate care you provide. Thank you for being the guiding light in good times and challenging times. Wishing you a Thanksgiving filled with warmth, gratitude and the knowledge that your efforts are deeply appreciated and cherished.

Happy Thanksgiving!
