Immunizations for Healthy Aging — Ad Astra ECHO Series on Immunizations in Kansas

KansasHealthInstitute (Dec. 1, 2023) – The Kansas Health Institute is sponsoring a webinar on immunizations for Healthy Aging from 10:00 - 11:30 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 15. The event will be presented in a hybrid format, with in-person and virtual attendance options available. Specific details will be sent with a confirmation email once registered. This event will focus on understanding vaccinations recommended for older adults. Participants will learn how the immune system changes with age and the role vaccines can play in maintaining health. They will also learn about critical vaccines recommended for older adults and how to address fears and concerns regarding immunizations. Participants will hear from Dr. Joan Duwve, state health officer, and Krissi O'Dell, immunization nurse educator, from the Kansas Department of Health and Environment. They will be followed by a panel discussion. John Eplee, MD, Kansas State Representative and family physician, will provide wrap-up comments.

  • Brenda Rhoads-Groves, LPN, CADDCT, quality improvement consultant, KFMC Health Improvement Partners
