The United States Department of Health and Human Services Region 7 is holding its Virtual Office Hours at 9:00 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 6. This event provides a networking platform to engage with HHS leadership and subject matter experts to get answers to program and resource questions; request technical assistance and training; and share critical surveillance about emergent local, state and regional health care issues/trends.
AHA Releases 2024 Health Care Workforce Scan
The American Hospital Association released its 2024 Health Care Workforce Scan, an annual snapshot of America's hospital and health system employment based on reports, studies and other data sources from leading organizations and researchers. This year's scan focuses on the following core challenges:
- Creatively reimagine workforce roles and responsibilities
- Strategically redesign care delivery and practices
- Successfully transform workforce culture and patient care
HRSA Releases Nurse Faculty Loan Program Funding Opportunity
The Health Resources and Services Administration released a Notice of Funding Opportunity to increase the number of qualified nursing faculty nationwide. The Nurse Faculty Loan Program provides funding to accredited schools of nursing to establish and operate a student loan fund and provide loans to students enrolled in advanced nursing degree programs who are committed to becoming nurse faculty. In exchange for completion of up to four years of post-graduation full-time nurse faculty employment in an accredited school of nursing, the program authorizes cancellation of as much as 85 percent of the original student loan amount. Applications will be accepted through Feb. 5, 2024.
