News (Aug. 11, 2023) – Complimentary Training Available for Emergency Health Care Providers
Region VII Regional Disaster Response System is hosting a complimentary Fundamental Critical Care Support: Crisis Management in-person event at 8:00 a.m. Monday, Sept 18, in Edwardsville, KS. This course will discuss appropriate triage and management of critical care needs during natural and intentional disasters, and describe the roles and responsibilities — including those of the hospital system — when responding to mass shootings, and chemical and radiologic exposures. Registration is required.

The American College of Medical Toxicology in partnership with the Region 4 Southern Regional Disaster Response System is hosting Chemical Agents of Opportunity for Terrorism virtual training at 7:45 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 30. This course is designed to familiarize health care providers and responders with toxic exposure and will review the medical and psychological consequences of exposure to a variety of chemical materials. It will include practical information regarding scene safety for high-potency fentanyl analogs and inhaled irritants. Registration is required.

CRHI to Highlight New Models for Rural Health at Health Innovation Summit
The GlobalSTL Health Innovation Summit is the destination for health care organizations seeking actionable, innovative solutions and partnerships to the industry's most difficult challenges. The summit brings the largest health care organizations in St. Louis and the nation together with leaders of fast-scaling startups from around the globe.

At this year's summit, the Center for Rural Health Innovation is hosting a rural-focused panel centering on the importance of whole-person, value-based care models. New ideas and models to address major challenges specific to rural communities will be highlighted, including patient-centered chronic care management, supporting rural providers' successful transition to value-based care and transportation.
