Evidence-Informed Interventions in Preventing Suicide in the Health Care Workforce – June 15

AHA Logo (June 9, 2023) – The American Hospital Association is hosting a webinar focused on Evidence-Informed Interventions in Preventing Suicide in the Health Care Workforce from noon to 1 p.m. on Thursday, June 15. This session will provide an overview of AHA's new workforce mental well-being guide, Suicide Prevention: Evidence-Informed Interventions for the Health Care Workforce, and deep dive into the three drivers of suicide: stigma, limited access to behavioral health resources and treatment, and job-related stressors, as well as 12 evidence-informed interventions that leaders can implement to better support the mental well-being of their workforce and reduce suicide risk.

Hospitals can use the guide to choose the interventions and metrics that work for their organization based on their own needs and available resources to customize a pathway to suicide prevention for their employees.

The webinar will prepare attendees to:

  • Discuss the current state of mental well-being and suicide prevention programming, research and outcomes
  • Identify the three key drivers of suicide in the health care workforce
  • Understand how the 12 evidence-informed interventions to impact the key drivers may be implemented individually or in combination at a hospital or health care system
