CRNA Exemption Requests Due by Jan. 1
(Dec. 8, 2023) – The Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist Exemption allows rural hospitals and Critical Access Hospitals to qualify for reasonable cost-based reimbursement of anesthesia services performed by a qualified non-physician anesthetist.
All hospitals requesting the CRNA exemption must submit a written request to their Medicare Administrative Contractor (WPS) by Jan. 1, 2024. Information can be found on the WPS website. More information is available here.
