(Nov. 22, 2023) – Earlier this month, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services began displaying the Birthing-Friendly Designation on its
Care Compare Tool. According to CMS, the agency created the new designation to identify hospitals and health systems that participate in a statewide or national perinatal quality improvement collaborative program and that implement evidence-based care to improve maternal health.
