(Aug. 25, 2023) – Health care staff face significant risks when it comes to workplace violence. Many factors contribute to these risks including, working directly with those who have a history of violent behavior, behavioral health issues or are under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol. The rate of serious workplace violence incidents is more than five times greater in the health care setting than in private industry, according to the General Accounting Office's 2016 report.
