Opioid Educational Webinar: Partnering to Increase Access to SUD Treatment – May 3

Please join us on May 3 to hear how hospitals and communities are partnering to increase access to substance use disorder treatment and harm reduction. The program has been approved for 1.0 contact hours of continuing nursing education and pending approval for 1.0 contact hours of continuing pharmacy education. There is no charge to attend as this program is funded through a grant from our partners at DCCCA.

Senate Public Health and Welfare Receives Legislative Research Briefing

Kansas Statehouse (Jan. 12, 2023) – Today, the Senate Public Health and Welfare Committee, chaired by Renee Erickson (R-Wichita), received a briefing update from legislative research staff. Staff shared the 2023 Briefing Book with the committee members and highlighted the following topics:

COVID-19 mandates
Fentanyl testing strips
KanCare waivers and managed care organization contracts
Mental health beds for adults and youth
Monkeypox

The committee will meet again on Tuesday, Jan. 17, for a presentation regarding 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline.
