Senate Public Health and Welfare Meets

Kansas Senate Chamber (Feb. 17, 2023) – Today, the Senate Public Health and Welfare Committee, chaired by Senator Beverly Gossage (R-Eudora) held hearings on Senate Bill 113, Senate Bill 219 and Senate Bill 131.

Senate Bill 113 allows naturopathic doctors to engage in the corporate practice of medicine. Laura Rues, ND, Kansas Naturopathic Doctors Association testified as a proponent.

Senate Bill 219 designates certain health care providers as being ineligible to purchase professional liability insurance from the Health Care Stabilization Fund if they provide abortions.
