(Feb. 2, 2023) – Today, the House Judiciary Committee, chaired by Representative Fred Patton, recommended favorably for passage
House Bill 2023. The legislation increases protections for health care workers. The committee passed the bill with two recorded "no" votes from Representative Dennis Highberger (D-Lawrence) and Ranking Minority Member John Carmichael (D-Wichita). The bill now goes before the full House of Representatives.
