House Takes Up First Bills

HouseChamber (Jan. 31, 2023) – Today, the House Committee of the Whole worked the first bills of the 2023 session as follows:

House Bill 2018 – Concerning the probate code, relating to wills, and permitting a will or a copy of a will filed within six months after the death of the testator to be admitted to probate at any time.

House Bill 2017 – Concerning family law, relating to arbitration agreements, enacting the Uniform Family Law Arbitration Act.

House Bill 2016 – Concerning probate code, relating transfer-on-death; clarifying how property held under a transfer-on-death deed is distributed when one beneficiary predeceases the grantor.

House Bill 2015 – Concerning public health; relating to infectious disease, authorizing the designee of an employing agency or entity to petition the court for an order requiring infectious disease testing.

The House will take final action votes on these bills on Wednesday, Feb. 1.
