Opioid Educational Webinar: Partnering to Increase Access to SUD Treatment – May 3

Please join us on May 3 to hear how hospitals and communities are partnering to increase access to substance use disorder treatment and harm reduction. The program has been approved for 1.0 contact hours of continuing nursing education and pending approval for 1.0 contact hours of continuing pharmacy education. There is no charge to attend as this program is funded through a grant from our partners at DCCCA.

House Health and Human Services Holds Informational Briefing on CHIP Eligibility Legislation

CHIP (Feb. 9, 2023) – Today, House Health and Human Services, chaired by Representative Brenda Landwehr (R-Wichita), held an informational hearing on House Bill 2050. The legislation updates income requirements for the State Children's Insurance Program. Current statutes tie eligibility to the 2008 federal poverty income guidelines.

Testifying in support was Heather Braum from Kansas Action for Children.

The committee chair announced that all bills must be out of committee before turn-around, which is Friday, Feb. 17. The committee is scheduled to meet next week.
