(Feb. 20, 2023) – House Health and Human Service Committee, chaired by Representative Brenda Landwehr (R-Wichita), held hearings on House Bill 2338 and House Bill 2408.
House Bill 2338 designates Sickle Cell Disease Awareness Week and requires the Kansas Department of Health and Environment to study and report on topics related to sickle cell disease.
House Bill 2408 exempts certain services provided in adult care homes from the provisions of the acts regulating cosmetologists and barbers.
The bills were worked and recommended favorably by the committee. They now go before the full House. The committee has completed its work ahead of the turnaround date and is scheduled to meet next week.
