House Appropriations Works KDADS Budget Removes Subcommittee Budget Items
KDADS (March 8, 2023) – Today, the House Appropriations Committee, chaired by Representative Troy Waymaster (R-Bunker Hill), held hearings on legislation and also worked budgets, including the Kansas Department of Aging and Disability Services budget. The committee discussed the budget at length and ultimately voted to put all budget items added by the sub-committee off until the full appropriations committee works the complete budget, including the request $5 million for the mental health patient observation program. That line-item is included in the Senate version of the budget.
