Registration Open for Integrated Care Learning Sessions

Sunflower Foundation Logo (Oct. 17, 2025) – The Sunflower Foundation is offering training and technical assistance resources for Kansas clinics interested in integrated care through a series of learning community calls. These calls are from noon to 1:00 p.m. on the third Friday of each month, starting in October 2025 and running through March 2026.

These monthly calls will provide an opportunity to hear from experts at the Eugene S. Farley, Jr., Health Policy Center at the University of Colorado about the key elements of behavioral health integration and chance to connect with peers across the state.

Sessions are designed for champions of behavioral health integration clinics, such as clinic administrators, managers, behavioral health directors or other interested staff members. Session topics include the following:

  • Oct. 17 – Leadership
  • Nov. 21 – Data
  • Dec. 19 – Team-based Care/Patient and Family Engagement
  • Jan. 16 – Population Management/Access
  • Feb. 20 – Comprehensiveness and Care Coordination
  • March 20 – Sustainability, including billing/coding, onboarding, training

Registering once enrolls you in all calls. Click here to sign up.

e-Learning Modules
E-learning modules are available to earn continuing medical education credits. These asynchronous training options ensure your entire team understands the fundamentals of behavioral health integration.

The e-Learning modules are suitable for everyone. Integrated care requires teamwork, and these modules act as a flexible tool to help develop a collaborative team. To register for the Building Blocks of Behavioral Health Integration e-Learning module:

  • Visit the University of Colorado e-Learning – Better, Smarter, More Efficient Healthcare
  • Click the Register link
  • A pop-up box will appear for you to enter your email and create your password
  • Enter the Registration Code: SUNFLOWER

You will then be redirected to your My Account page, where you can access the module. To receive one hour of Category 1 CME credit from the American Academy of Family Physicians for completing the Building Blocks of Behavioral Health Integration e-Learning module, you must complete the evaluation at the end of the module. After submitting the evaluation, your CME certificate will be generated automatically and available on the My Account page.

Please note, additional e-Learning modules related to behavioral health integration may be added to your account. Currently, the Building Blocks of Behavioral Health Integration e-Learning module is the only one available with CME.

Integrated Care Learning Network Webpage Is Now Live!
The Integrated Care Learning Network webpage includes a recap and slide presentations from the Sept. 17 ICLN launch event, a photo gallery from the event and a video highlighting some of our integrated care champions.

The Farley Center team participated in the event to share results from recent key informant interviews focused on issues related to the sustainable delivery of integrated care in Kansas. An Integrated Care Systems group will meet during the next year to address these identified issues. If you have information or resources you'd like to share with the systems group, or if you want to get involved, please contact Carlie Houchen, Sunflower Foundation Director of Health Systems, at chouchen@sunflowerfoundation.org.

The Integrated Care Learning Network is partly funded by the Kansas Department for Aging and Disability Services. We also want to thank the Patterson Family Foundation for its involvement in this work and its shared commitment to improving and expanding health care services to help rural communities thrive.
