KDHE Issues Alert Regarding Anti-Tuberculosis Drug Shortage
KDHE (May 19, 2023) – On May 10, The Kansas Department of Health and Environment issued a KS-HAN alert regarding the shortage of the anti-tuberculosis medication rifampin, which has been classified by the Food and Drug Administration as in short supply since December 2021. The Kansas Department of Health and Environment TB Control Program has a limited supply of rifampin on hand and is prioritizing shipment of rifampin for active TB disease patients.
