House Financial Institutions and Pensions Hears from Commissioner Vicki Schmidt
(Jan. 23, 2023) – Today, the House Financial Institutions and Pensions Committee, chaired by Representative Nick Hoheisel (R-Wichita), received an update from Kansas Insurance Commissioner Vicki Schmidt. The committee got an overview of the office and asked if they handle Medicare and Medicaid issues. Specifically, the committee inquired about the Texas Gold Card law as it relates to prior authorization and if the office would support it. Commissioner Schmidt responded they would research the legislation.
