KHA has a 21-member board of directors. They meet at least five times a year. Each board member holds three-year terms, with a two-term limit. The board has a composition of members from all geographic areas of Kansas all sizes and types of member hospitals are represented. The board also includes two hospital trustees and two physician members. Other participants include the American Hospital Association delegate.

KHSC Board Meeting - Jan. 29

KHSC is a wholly owned subsidiary of KHA. Therefore, a secondary objective of KHSC is to support KHA in meeting its mission of serving hospitals. Its mission is to provide enhanced value to KHA members by evaluating and endorsing selected vendors of services needed by the KHA membership. KHSC will be a valuable resource to Kansas healthcare facilities and the Kansas Hospital Association as they serve their constituents.

President's Perspective – Federal Advocacy Efforts

Our visits to DC this week were well-timed, as the federal government's current funding statute expires on Jan. 30, 2026, and lawmakers are scrambling to reach a deal to extend EPTC. Our federal delegation is fighting on our behalf on this issue and others, including Kansas' provider tax, REH flexibilities, 340B protection and RHTP implementation.

HHS Signals Plans to Drop 340B Rebate Pilot Appeal

In its Jan. 12 filing with the First Circuit Court of Appeals, HHS said it plans to drop its appeal of an order blocking the 340B rebate pilot. The filing also said HHS is in discussions with AHA about "returning the approvals challenged in this litigation to the agency for reconsideration."
