Hospital Foundation Director Champions Community Programs

Anna Methvin (July 28, 2023) – KHA's Health Care Worker of the Year Award highlights hospital employees who have made a significant contribution to the betterment of their hospital. These individuals are nominated for this award because they routinely go above and beyond the call of duty.

As director of the Neosho Memorial Regional Medical Center Foundation, Anna Methvin has an opportunity to build programs that address medical and community needs. Methvin joined NMRMC 11 years ago and has been a leader in fundraising programs for youth to senior citizens, making the Neosho and surrounding communities safer.

Methvin encouraged the foundation to fund the IMPACT Concussion Screening Program for all county middle and high school students. She began the Annual Employee Giving campaign with 70 percent staff participation. Other programs Methvin has helped organize include AEDs for schools, JAWS of Life for the Erie Fire Department, the Wings Like Eagle bike program, the purchase of Care Cars for the transportation program and Baby Swaddles to promote safe infant sleeping.

Since 2021, Methvin has raised $11,200,323.00 for the community served by NMRMC. This includes funding for SEK Impact Conference Center for Wellness, Education and Business. Opening in 2024, the center will house an orthopedic clinic, children's therapy services and gym, as well as a 300-person conference center.

Since 2014, one of the biggest projects under Methvin's leadership has been the Green Living Foundation. Green Living is a 55+ housing community that addresses the needs of adults to downsize from their family homes into homes designed for aging in place. Today, Green Living has sold 10 homes and has helped address a housing challenge in the community. There are plans for expansion with grants and partnerships that will help build more homes in the future.

Methvin will be recognized, along with other Health Care Worker of the Year nominees, during the KHA Awards Luncheon at the 2023 KHA Annual Convention, Thursday, Sept. 7, at the Hyatt Regency Wichita/Century II Convention Center in Wichita.
