Emergency Department Efficiencies – Dec. 5

Emergency Room (Nov. 7, 2025) – It is more important than ever for rural hospitals to prioritize quality and efficiency to remain competitive in this fast-changing market. Rural areas are feeling the impact as the population ages, the number of uninsured grows, budgets shrink and the need to control health care costs becomes more urgent.

Hospital emergency departments are likely to continue seeing rising volumes and increased pressure to reduce avoidable utilization. The rules and regulations that govern emergency departments can be complex, and penalties for violations can be severe. Often, risks stem from unfamiliarity with regulatory requirements as management, physicians and staff strive to improve efficiency. This will be an in-person event held at the J.O. Sundstrom Conference Center in Lindsborg.

Topics include:

  • Refresher on EMTALA and strategies to enhance revenue cycle management;
  • How to build relationships with patients, partners and the community; and
  • Tools and ideas for your hospital to start implementing quality measures and financial initiatives.
