Curiosity in Care: Building Trust and Supporting Patients with Substance Use Disorder – Jan. 14 Webinar

Substance Abuse Webinar (Dec. 19, 2025) – Kansas health care professionals, including physicians, nurses, physician assistants, pharmacists and behavioral health professionals, are encouraged to attend a webinar, from noon to 1:00 p.m. CST, to learn more about supporting patients with substance use disorder. In this webinar, Tessa Schnelle, PharmD, and Jennifer Brady, clinical care manager, will explain the benefits of communicating with curiosity and without judgment, establish realistic expectations for engaging with patients with substance use disorder and describe the importance of screening, brief intervention and referral to care. One free credit hour of continuing education will be provided. This webinar is cohosted by the KU School of Medicine-Wichita, the Kansas Board of Pharmacy, DCCCA and the Kansas Hospital Association/Healthworks. Funding for this project was provided by a grant approved and awarded by the Kansas Fights Addiction Grant Review Board, with grant administration support from the Sunflower Foundation: Health Care for Kansans.
