KHSC Board Meeting - Sept. 9

KHSC is a wholly owned subsidiary of KHA. Therefore, a secondary objective of KHSC is to support KHA in meeting its mission of serving hospitals. CJRX Webinar – Sept. 29

KHA Healthworks logos (Aug. 28, 2026) – The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services has finalized the Comprehensive Care for Joint Replacement Expanded model in the Inpatient Prospective Payment System rule, with the model scheduled to begin in January 2028. CJR-X expands the use of mandatory, episode-based payment models and shifts greater financial accountability to hospitals, with performance tied to cost and quality outcomes across defined episodes of care. Most hospitals paid under the Inpatient Prospective Payment System will be required to participate in CJR-X. The Kansas Hospital Association and Healthworks are hosting a webinar at noon on Sept. 29, when experts from Forvis Mazars will provide an overview of CJR-X, outlining participation requirements and key considerations for preparing to perform successfully under the model. In addition, you will learn about upcoming opportunities for Kansas hospitals mandated to participate in CJR-X to join a cohort project focused on implementation preparation.
