(Aug. 28, 2026) – Whether we are educating, advocating or building relationships, we seek ways to help policymakers at the federal, state and local levels understand the implications of the policies under discussion. The Kansas Hospital Association appreciates the opportunity to work with our members to develop common-sense solutions that benefit Kansans. One way we do this work is through our KHA Political Action Committee.
On Monday, I had the opportunity to join many of our hospital and associate members at the KHA-PAC Golf Scramble at the Salina County Club. We had 18 teams from across Kansas participate. I want to thank the 72 golfers who joined this event, which raised $17,335 to support candidates who support health care issues.
I also want to thank APS and KHSC, who generously sponsored this event, as well as our prize and hole sponsors: Avel eCare, Citizens Health, Dondlinger Construction, Forvis Mazars, Goodell Stratton Edmonds & Palmer, LLP, HPM, Hutton, Lutz, Minneola Healthcare, Salina Regional Health Center, Stormont Vail Health, Sunflower Health Network and The University of Kansas Health System.
Our fundraising efforts are in full swing at our upcoming annual convention. I encourage hospitals, allied organizations and associate members to participate by donating a silent auction item. This is a great way to help your hospital reach its goal, as the value of your in-kind gift counts toward your KHA-PAC goal. Whether it's for a special team, activity, event, tickets or a stay at your getaway spot, we want your auction items today!
Our auction will be digital once again this year, so we are excited to have people in the room at the convention and those supporting online join in for our KHA-PAC Silent Auction. The KHA-PAC will also have a Wine and Bourbon Pull during the convention. Feel free to donate a bottle in advance or stop by the KHA-PAC booth to pull a bottle of wine or bourbon.

Our ability to support state and federal candidates who are strong advocates for Kansas hospital issues is vital. As hospitals work toward shared legislative objectives, combining our resources (both in terms of health care issues and finances) enables us to do more, go farther, and have a stronger voice.
