An Early Warning System for Nurse Burnout: Metrics and Strategies October 2025
(Oct. 17, 2025) – The American Organization for Nursing Leadership and its Workforce Committee are spearheading a national initiative to understand and tackle key workforce challenges faced by nurse leaders. A primary goal of this effort is to highlight these challenges and develop specific strategies to support and empower nurse leaders in overcoming them.
As part of this initiative, AONL has partnered with Laudio, a purpose-built software and analytics company dedicated to inspiring and empowering health care providers. Frontline leaders and executives use Laudio to simplify their work and enable large-scale change through everyday human actions.
AONL and Laudio Insights, Laudio's dedicated analytics team, collaborate on biannual reports (spring and fall) that highlight data and best practices to support decision-making for frontline leaders and their executives. The Spring 2025 report, Early-Tenure Nurse Retention: Trends and Leader Strategies, combines data on new hire retention trends with insights from nurse executives and managers who share their strategies for early-tenure retention and engagement.
