AHA, Epic Create Initiative on EHR Tools Supporting Postpartum Hemorrhage Management

AHA Logo (Dec. 12, 2025) – The American Hospital Association and Epic have launched an initiative to raise awareness of electronic health records tools that support postpartum hemorrhage management. The Safer Births PPH Collaborative will assist hospitals and health systems in implementing strategies outlined in the AHA/Epic PPH Toolkit released in July, providing standardized guidance for early detection, rapid response and treatment. AHA members are encouraged to join the Safe Birth Collaborative. EHR tools can help providers identify and treat PPH regardless of the software they use.

The six-month initiative combines structured learning and peer engagement at no additional cost to members. Participants will take part in monthly expert-led sessions that cover strategies, tools, and best practices and can attend dedicated office hours with AHA and Epic teams for personalized guidance, troubleshooting and performance improvement support. Between sessions, participants can connect with peers through interactive forums to share experiences, lessons learned and practical solutions, fostering collaboration to improve maternal safety and quality improvement.

Interested participants are advised to complete the registration form for the 2026 collaborative. Following submission, applicants will receive a follow-up email and additional communications over the next two months with additional details.
