Senate Public Health and Welfare Committee Hears Legislation

Kansas Senate Chamber (March 8, 2023) – Today, the Senate Public Health and Welfare Committee, chaired by Senator Beverly Gossage (R-Eudora), held hearings on House Bill 2262 and House Bill 2034.

House Bill 2262 allows six months of an embalmer apprenticeship to be completed prior to an individual attending mortuary science school.

House Bill 2034 requires a referral of an alleged victim of child abuse or neglect for an examination as part of an investigation, creating a program in the department of health and environment to provide training and payment for such examinations.

The committee will meet again Thursday, March 9.
