Senate Education Committee Holds Hearing on Nurse Educator Program

(Mar. 6, 2024) – Today, the Senate Education Committee, chaired by Sen. Molly Baumgardner (R-Louisburg), held a hearing on House Bill 2645. The legislation amends the Nurse Service Scholarship Program to remove limits on the amount of awards and number of scholarships, removes the sponsorship requirement, modifies the interest rate terms for repayment obligations and abolishes the Nursing Service Scholarship Review Committee. The Kansas Hospital Association provided testimony in support.
