House Takes Final Action, Debates Bills

House of Representatives (March 3, 2026) – Today, the House took a final vote on Senate Bill 348. The legislation exempts any electric public utility that is a not-for-profit, wholly owned subsidiary of an electric cooperative public utility from the jurisdiction of the state corporation commission. The bill passed 119-0.

The House also debated the following:

House Bill 2644 requires a county appraiser to adjust the value of residential and commercial property upon final determination or to obtain a fee-simple appraisal if the appraised value increases by more than five percent over three years. The bill was favorably recommended for a final vote in the House.

Sub for House Bill 2427 establishes the positions of the Senate fiscal integrity auditor, appointed by the president of the Senate and the House of Representatives fiscal integrity auditor, appointed by the speaker of the House of Representatives. It sets out the duties of these fiscal integrity auditors, including access to state fiscal technology systems and software, as well as the reports and recommendations to certain legislative committees. The bill was amended and recommended favorably for a final vote in the House.

House Bill 2513 authorizes payment of certain claims against the state, makes appropriations therefor and authorizes certain transfers. The bill was recommended favorably for a final vote.
