House Debates and Takes Final Action on Bills Before Them

HouseChamber (March 9, 2023) – Today, the House debated the following bills before them:

House Bill 2002 continues in existence the reimbursement from the Taxpayer Notification Costs Fund for printing and postage costs for county clerks beyond the calendar year 2023.

House Bill 2201 requires prior-year tax information to be included on the classification and appraised valuation notice.

House Bill 2229 provides a deduction from sales or compensating use tax when selling and buying different motor vehicles within 180 days.

House Bill 2106 provides a sales tax exemption for sales of property and services used in the provision of communications services.

House Bill 2026, requires the secretary of revenue to file release of tax warrants in the county where the warrant is docketed after payment of taxes owed.

The committee also took final votes on House Bill 2304 – an act concerning education; relating to firearms training and safety education programs in school districts.

Those bills will now go to the Senate for further review and amendments.
