(Mar. 22, 2024) – Today, the House of Representatives saw the Medicaid expansion bill, from 2024, House Bill 2556, moved from the House Health and Human Services Committee to the House Interstate Cooperation Committee, a committee that rarely meets.
The House also moved the 2023 Medicaid expansion bill, House Bill 2415, from the Committee on Appropriations to the Committee on Health and Human Services.
These procedural moves signal an attempt to make it more difficult to pull any expansion bills out of committees. The House will meet again next week.
