(March 2026) – The Medicare Beneficiary Quality Improvement Program requires participating hospitals to report the Emergency Department Transfer Communication measures. These measures are designed to improve care transitions by ensuring key data elements are consistently documented during patient transfers from rural emergency departments to receiving facilities. QHi supports both the collection and reporting of these measures. Hospitals currently abstract the required data using an Excel-based tool and upload the completed file to QHi. Although the abstraction tool remains unchanged this year, users are encouraged to create a new file when beginning their 2026 data collection. Please ensure the monthly report reflects the reporting year as 2026.
