President's Perspective – KHA Members Are Making a Difference

This week, KHA members made a big difference in our fundraising efforts by supporting the KHA-PAC. We had 72 golfers participate in the KHA-PAC Golf Scramble, which raised $17,335 to support candidates who support health care issues.

Webinar Set to Prepare for Electronic Prior Authorization – Sept. 2

Federal requirements for electronic prior authorization will take effect on Jan. 1, 2027, requiring Medicare Advantage and other plans to support standardized electronic prior authorization. To help hospitals and health systems prepare, a webinar is scheduled for 1 p.m. on Sept. 2.

This free webinar will highlight information about the AHA Age-Friendly Health Systems Action Community convening this fall. Implementing the AFHS framework to deliver age-friendly care can help organizations work toward attestation of the CMS measure.

Safe Sleep Instructor Application – Seats Still Available

The goal of this program is to prepare Safe Sleep Instructors to educate parents/caregivers, childcare providers, health care professionals and other community members about safe infant sleep practices.

Kansas Board of Regents Survey of Internationally Educated Nurses

The survey aims to gather confidential feedback to help hospitals, nonprofits and the State of Kansas better support internationally educated nurses as they transition into practice, obtain licensure and build sustainable careers here.

Kansas Board of Pharmacy Engagement Session: Shared Services in Medical Care Facilities

The Kansas Board of Pharmacy continues to receive feedback on the proposed KAR 68-7-20 regarding shared services in retail dispensing. In response, the KBOP executive secretary and attorney will host a virtual, interactive Engagement Session for pharmacists at medical care facilities from noon to 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept.15.
