Trainings and Resources Are Available to Prepare for FIFA World Cup 2026™

FIFA KC (Jan. 16, 2025) – Kansas City is serving as a host city for FIFA World Cup 26™. Hospitals and health systems across the bistate region are working proactively to ensure preparedness for the games this summer that will bring international fans, increased travel and heightened public health considerations.

KC2026 has partnered with The University of Kansas Health System to serve as the Official Medical Services Provider for the Kansas City World Cup 2026 Host City. This partnership builds on existing planning efforts and will enhance regional coordination in several key areas.

Several trainings and resources are available to support clinicians, front-line staff, emergency planners and other health care staff as they prepare for the World Cup.

In addition, the Kansas Department of Health and the Environment updated its Health and Travel information on its website. The department also issued a new Domestic and International Infectious Disease Report that provides a summary of priority infectious disease activity related to the 2026 FIFA World Cup™.
