KHA has a 21-member board of directors. They meet at least five times a year. Each board member holds three-year terms, with a two-term limit. The board has a composition of members from all geographic areas of Kansas all sizes and types of member hospitals are represented. The board also includes two hospital trustees and two physician members. Other participants include the American Hospital Association delegate.

KHSC Board Meeting - Jan. 29

KHSC is a wholly owned subsidiary of KHA. Therefore, a secondary objective of KHSC is to support KHA in meeting its mission of serving hospitals. Its mission is to provide enhanced value to KHA members by evaluating and endorsing selected vendors of services needed by the KHA membership. KHSC will be a valuable resource to Kansas healthcare facilities and the Kansas Hospital Association as they serve their constituents.

Save the Date – Kansas Rural Maternal Health Symposium – March 27

Save the Date (Jan. 16, 2025) – The KU Center for Rural Health is hosting the 2026 Kansas Rural Maternal Health Symposium on March 27 at the Hilton Garden Inn in Salina. The symposium brings together experts to share trends, clinical updates and strategies to improve care. The intended audience includes physicians, advanced practice providers, nurses, social workers and others committed to rural maternal and infant health. Learning objectives for this year's symposium include:

Describe current KUMC efforts to promote rural maternal and infant health training among students, residents and rural health care professionals;
Explain the implications of increasing BMI for Rural obstetrical care;
Identify recent changes in maternity care clinical guidelines and opportunities to improve breastfeeding behaviors; and
Evaluate care coordination requirements for recent or evolving clinical guidelines on maternal care and breastfeeding support.
