(Aug. 28 2026) – The Kansas Infant Death and SIDS Network (KIDS Network) invites applications for the biannual Safe Sleep Instructor Training on Sept. 24-25, in Wichita. The training will be conducted in collaboration with a team from the University of Kansas School of Medicine-Wichita Center for Research for Infant Birth and Survival (CRIBS) and is funded in party by a Title V – Maternal Child and Health block grant from the Kansas Department of Health and Environment.
The goal of the program is to prepare Safe Sleep Instructors to educate parents/caregivers, childcare providers, health care professionals and other community members about safe infant sleep practices. The SSI will be the voice of Safe Sleep by promoting safe sleep education through standardized training and community outreach.
Training registration: $500
Registration includes:
- KIDS Network Safe Sleep Instructor Certification;
- Training manual and handouts;
- Sleep kit (portable crib, doll, wearable blanket, diapers, wipes and other items);
- Certification for continuing education credits; and
- Bi-monthly webinars.
