(May 15, 2026) – This week, the Kansas Hospital Association was honored to celebrate all of you during National Hospital Week. We've enjoyed seeing the many creative and meaningful ways hospitals celebrated and recognized your teams. This year's theme, Healing Happens Here, perfectly captures the year-round focus of Kansas hospitals. We are honored to recognize the amazing people who work in Kansas hospitals and health systems.
Kansas hospitals are cornerstones of the communities they serve. They are places of healing, hope and connection that touch lives every day, in ways both seen and unseen. From delivering babies and responding to emergencies to advancing medical innovation and addressing community-wide challenges, hospitals are there when and where they are needed most. Hospitals care for patients regardless of circumstance, stand ready in times of crisis and support local economies as trusted employers and partners.
Telling the story of the impact Kansas hospitals have on communities is powerful. It highlights the dedication of caregivers, the strength of community partnerships and the essential role hospitals play in improving access to care, advancing health and supporting the well-being of all. Hospital, employee and patient stories put faces to facts and give context to care, helping policymakers, community leaders and the public understand what is at stake when hospitals are supported … and what is lost when they are not. By clearly and consistently sharing how hospitals serve their communities, we reaffirm their value not only as providers of care but as vital organizations committed to a healthier future for all.
KHA is joining the American Hospital Association in its ongoing effort to tell stories that highlight how hospitals and health systems across the country bring this impact to life. AHA's Telling the Hospital Story webpage reflects the broad and deep commitment of hospitals to meeting community needs today while preparing for tomorrow’s challenges. As part of our upcoming Kansas public perception campaign, we will work to collect stories from patients and hospitals that demonstrate how we are championing health care together. Stay tuned for more information about this upcoming campaign.
I want to thank you again for the valuable contributions you make each day, enabling hospitals to care for Kansans 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year. On behalf of the entire KHA staff, thank you for your commitment to improving your community's health through compassionate care, constant innovation and unwavering dedication!
