President’s Perspective – Putting Patients First Is What We Do

Champions Together (June 19, 2026) – As I travel across the state, I see firsthand how hospitals and health care teams collaborate to improve access to care, strengthen local communities and demonstrate a unified commitment to better health. We want to share that story more broadly. The Kansas Hospital Association has launched Champions Together, a public perception campaign highlighting teamwork, unity and achievement among hospitals and providers as we put patients first. We know every day, Kansas health care teams keep people moving toward healthy lives. The goal of this campaign is to share these stories to inspire ongoing trust and a positive perception of Kansas hospitals and health care workers..

Campaign video, social and print elements position Kansas health care as collaborative, resilient and high achieving. Creative elements convey strength, unity and shared success, reinforcing the idea that Kansas health care succeeds when we work together. This statewide campaign, which will run throughout June and July, consists of paid and earned media.

A new landing page, ChampionsTogether.org, features videos and stories from across Kansas. We know champions are found in every Kansas community, including patients and their providers focused on better health. Kansas families show up for one another, and their health care teams deliver care with strength, skill and compassion. We encourage members to help us share these stories. We have created a Champions Together Toolkit to help our members join this campaign. On the ChampionsTogether.org website, patients and staff can share their stories and highlight how Kansans have moved forward through everyday care, unexpected challenges and important milestones.

I want to thank our KHA members who submitted both video and written stories from patients and staff who helped us get this website off the ground. Following the Champions Together campaign, KHA will conduct a statewide public perception poll to gauge public opinions of the Kansas health care system, including hospitals, health insurance, price, quality and other topics. We'll share the results of this survey later this summer. In the meantime, we look forward to highlighting your patients' stories about how we are championing health care together in Kansas.
