(April 17, 2026) – Paul Layborne Symposium on Childe Psychology provided by the University of Kansas Medical Center will provide an evidence-based update on topics of importance to child psychiatry and psychology. A combination of nationally known and local experts will share evidence-based information for evaluation and treatment that is important for mental health professionals working with children and adolescents. Featured speakers will include Steven R. Pliszka, MD, Dielmann distinguish professor and chair of the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio and Mary Fristad, PhD, director of research development and academic affairs in the division of child and family psychiatry at Nationwide Children's Hospital and emerita professor of psychiatry and behavioral health, psychology and nutrition at Ohio State University.
