KPhA Hosting Free Interprofessional Dinner Events on Opioid Prescribing and Dispensing

Kansas Pharmacists Association KSRX Logo (Nov. 21, 2025) – The Kansas Pharmacists Association is hosting free interprofessional dinner events on opioid prescribing and dispensing across Kansas, and they encourage you and your colleagues to participate. "Keep Kansas Under Par" features educational sessions from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., with dinner and continuing education credits included. Join colleagues for dinner and a discussion on the proper prescribing and dispensing of opioid medications. The program starts with a didactic overview of guidelines, responsibilities and local data, then transitions to a discussion on interprofessional communication to keep communities safe.

1.5 hours of accredited CME (AMA Category 3), CNE, CPE and dental continuing education available.

Continuing Education Objectives:

  • Identify barriers and facilitators for implementing opioid prescribing guidelines across various Kansas health care settings.
  • Implement strategies to improve medication safety, such as opioid disposal programs, clinical decision support tools and prescription monitoring programs.
  • Develop a practical plan to expand multidisciplinary education and interprofessional collaboration to support opioid stewardship and SUD management in their local practice or institution.

The remaining sessions are in Dodge City on Dec. 10 and Pratt on Dec. 11.
