(Sept. 4, 2026) – The Kansas Fights Addiction Grant Review Board has begun accepting applications for the KFA Responsive Grant Program.
The RGP is a rapid-response grant opportunity that provides one-time funding to address short-term, immediate and time-sensitive needs to benefit the substance use disorder system at the local or state level. Applications will be accepted year-round, with quarterly grant reviews in March, June, September and December. The board has allocated $3 million to the RGP for calendar year 2026. KFA funding comes from money recovered by the Kansas Attorney General's Office through opioid legal settlements. Sunflower Foundation serves as the administrator of the KFA grant program.
Applications must be submitted by 4 p.m. on the day three weeks before each review date to be considered for funding in that quarter. Any application received after that time will be reviewed at the next quarterly review. The application deadline for the next quarterly review in December is Nov. 20. Future quarterly review dates will be posted on the Sunflower KFA web page.
Eligibility is limited to state entities, municipalities, nonprofit entities and for-profit entities that provide SUD-related services in Kansas. To be eligible, organizations must provide documentation they have been established and have provided SUD-related services in Kansas for at least three years.
