(March 6, 2026) – The Kansas Council of Health System Pharmacy and the Missouri Society of Health System Pharmacists are partnering to host a 2026 Joint Spring Meeting in Overland Park on March 27-28. The event features a comprehensive agenda for hospital and health system pharmacy staff, including clinical, professional development and operations/administrative tracks. A featured presentation is Operational Wisdom for Sterile Compounding in Small Hospitals, which aims to address regulatory knowledge gaps by clarifying the compounding standards relevant to small, rural and/or critical access hospitals.
This session will enhance pharmacists' understanding of immediate-use compounding criteria and provide practical guidance for developing USP-compliant standard operating procedures that can be effectively implemented in resource-limited environments. Operational Wisdom for Sterile Compounding in Small Hospitals will be presented by Janine Ohler, a clinical pharmacist at Ascension Via Christi Hospital Manhattan, Inc., and Joanna Robinson, an inpatient operations manager at The University of Kansas Health System, on Saturday morning, March 28, during the general session.
