(July 11, 2025) – We know many of our member hospitals employ legal immigrants to fill vital roles necessary for caring for our communities. We have also heard that some of our immigrant employees may be fearful because of reported immigration enforcement activities. To date, KHA has not been aware of any hospital employees being detained or arrested in connection with immigrant enforcement activities in Kansas. However, the National Immigration Law Center has a resource,
"What to Do if You Are Arrested or Detained by Immigration," that could be shared with your employees to help develop a plan and hopefully reduce concerns. Contact Larry Van Der Wege at
