Healthcare Coalition Update

Preparedness Program (Sept. 18, 2026) – On Sept. 14, the Kansas Department of Health and Environment's Preparedness Program hosted a Healthcare Coalition Steering Committee meeting and provided an update. KDHE is working with the seven HCCs in Kansas to identify and contract with a fiscal agent for each HCC. Fiscal agents have been identified for the North Central, Northeast, KC Metro, and Southeast HCC's and are at various stages of the contracting process.

The HCCs in the southwest, southcentral and northwest Kansas regions are still in the selection process. After selecting a contract for the HCC fiscal agent, each HCC will need to identify and secure a readiness and response coordinator to lead emergency preparedness planning and response in each region. KDHE Preparedness is also meeting with HCCs to address upcoming deliverables.
