Healthworks has a 13-member board of directors. KHA is the sole member of Healthworks. The directors are KHA members and others who support the vision and values of the Foundation. Since 1969, Healthworks has played an important role in helping KHA achieve its mission and vision.

KHSC Board Meeting - May 26

KHSC is a wholly owned subsidiary of KHA. Therefore, a secondary objective of KHSC is to support KHA in meeting its mission of serving hospitals. Its mission is to provide enhanced value to KHA members by evaluating and endorsing selected vendors of services needed by the KHA membership. KHSC will be a valuable resource to Kansas healthcare facilities and the Kansas Hospital Association as they serve their constituents.

KHA Board Retreat - May 27-29

KHA has a 21-member board of directors. They meet at least five times a year. Each board member holds three-year terms, with a two-term limit. The board has a composition of members from all geographic areas of Kansas all sizes and types of member hospitals are represented. The board also includes two hospital trustees and two physician members. Other participants include the American Hospital Association delegate.

Hantavirus and Ebola Outbreak Update

(May 22, 2026) – The Kansas Department of Health and Environment issued an update on May 20, to provide information to clinicians about testing recommendations for patients with suspected hantavirus infection. The HAN also provided an update on the current Ebola outbreak in the Democratic Republic of Congo and Uganda.

Concern for the outbreak is heightened with the upcoming FIFA World Cup 2026™ set to begin in June. Obtaining a travel history early in the patient encounter is key. KDHE provides several resources on their Travel and Health website page. Also, the Center for Disease Control provides a Guide for Clinicians Evaluating an Ill Person for a Special Pathogen as a one-page resource. Make sure your care teams know to call the KDHE Epidemiology Hotline at (877) 427-7317, Option 5, if they have any suspicions or concerns.
