CMS Proposes Transparency and Affordability Reforms in Medicare Advantage and Part D
The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services released a proposed rule to improve transparency and affordability in the Medicare Advantage and Part D programs. The proposals stem from recently enacted legislation included within the Consolidated Appropriations Act, 2026. The proposed rule includes adjustments to Medicare Part D cost-sharing for low-income individuals, requires Medicare Advantage organizations to ensure accurate provider directory information and modernizes pharmacy benefit manager accountability. Comments are due no later than 4 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 15.
