DOE Issues Final Rule on Updated Definition of "Professional Student"
The Department of Education released a final rule on April 30 that defines "professional student" and "graduate student," which determine federal student loan amounts. Several health care professions, including advanced practice nurses, physician assistants and physical therapists, are excluded from the final definition.
