Court Rules in AHA's Favor to Halt Unlawful 340B Changes
The American Hospital Association announced today that the United States District Court of Maine has ruled in favor of AHA, the Maine Hospital Association and four safety-net health systems in their lawsuit to challenge the 340B Rebate Model Pilot Program. The decision halts the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services from moving forward with the rebate program slated to start on Jan. 1.
AHA, Maine Hospital Association and four health systems released this joint statement following the decision:
"On behalf of our members — including safety-net hospitals serving rural and underserved communities — we are pleased with today's decision. The court's decision halts a rule that would have caused a devastating sea change in a 30-year-old program relied upon by hospitals that serve America’s most vulnerable patients and communities."
